If you have ever tried cannabis it is likely that you have noticed the differences intolerance that you may have compared to other people. You may have heard of people that get paranoid after just a few hits or people that simply prefer to abstain because of the way that cannabis products affect them. There are several factors that come into play with the way each person experiences cannabis and its effects.
Genetics
Genetics can play a part in the way that we respond to the stimulus effect of CBD and THC. Around 20% of the population has a genetic factor resulting in increased levels of Endocannabinoids which can result in an increase of paranoia when using cannabis. There’s also a percentage of the population that has a deficiency of these receptors which can massively increase tolerance.
Our Biochemistry
Everyone has their own unique biochemistry and when introducing new compounds to the body, the Endocannabinoid system can react differently based on a number of factors. These effects can be related to our diet, the medications that we’ve been taking, our past experience with cannabis and more. Depending on our current biochemistry this could mean experiencing major psychotic effects and anxiety or a simple body high.
Tolerance
Tolerance can play a big factor in CBD and THC use. It’s easy to build up a tolerance to cannabis and after consistently taking high doses of CBD or THC, you will often need to take more in order to experience the effects.
Your Health
Having the flu or cold can instantly change the way that you react to cannabis. Your overall health will change the chemical interactions within your body and change your biochemistry.
These are just a few of the factors that can change the way that cannabis affects us. If you are going to be trying cannabis or using products derived from cannabis it’s important to keep in mind the different factors that can affect your tolerance.
